Dalton, Banas reflect on spring ball
Brad Banas and A.J. Dalton play on different sides of the ball with different mentalities. But the two are potentially the lynch-pins of their respective sides heading into the season. Dalton is the most experienced player on the offensive line, despite being just a junior and in just his second year at left tackle. As much as the Colonials will lean on their skill position players to resurrect the offense, Dalton and the line will play an even larger role.
Banas, meanwhile, knows he and the linebackers have to be better in 2012. The defensive line is healthy, and the secondary is coming into form. But the heart of the 3-4 defense is the linebacking corps, and they'll need to be better.
Both recognize that, and Banas summed up the spring pretty succintly.
"Probably one of the best offseasons I've seen," he said.
